How to fix the error C:windowssystem32configsystemprofiledesktop Is Unavailable on Windows 10

Windows 10 Update 1803 has a bug where it can’t find the folder located in C:windowssystem32configsystemprofiledesktop. The error prevented the user from accessing anything on his desktop. This error may appear if you are updating from an older version or doing a complete fresh install. The error appears when you have gone through the entire update process. Here are two ways to fix the problem.

Control Userpasswords2

Click the Win+R shortcut to open Run. In Run, type cmd.exe and press Ctrl+Shift+Enter to open a Command Prompt with administrative rights. In the Command Prompt, type the following and press Enter

control userpasswords2

This will open the User Accounts window. Click the Add button to add a new user. You can add a local user or a Microsoft account and assign administrative rights if you want. You can also do this later if you want. Once you add the second user, restart Windows and log in with that account. This is the easiest way if you don’t want to lose files and have to reinstall apps.

Control Userpasswords 2

completely new configurations

If the above method doesn’t work, you still have two other options. However, you may lose files and applications when using one of these options. You will need to create an installation disc for Windows 10. Use the Windows 10 installable USB media and creation tool to connect it to your system and turn it on. It will ask if you want to upgrade the current installation. Select the upgrade option, and when prompted, select the option to keep both files and apps.

If you get this error again, try the previous solution again after you try to update from the USB stick. If that doesn’t work, you’ll have to do a completely fresh install of Windows 10. To keep your files saved, you should try booting from an external drive to back up the files you want to save. Your apps will be lost when you finish installing Windows 10.

The error message for this error is displayed as “Location is not available“, but there are several errors with this same name. The above solutions only work if the location where the error is reported is not available is C:windowssystem32configsystemprofiledesktop. This error also appears in other places, which may or may not be related to the April Update update. These errors will also have their own solutions, although it is safe to say that a complete fresh install will fix all the errors.
